If you are a food vendor who is interested in serving at the Sioux County Fair, we welcome you! Please fill out the form below and submit it for our review. We will contact you with further information once we have reviewed your entry. Please note that we are selective when it comes to the types of food vendors we approve, to avoid any overlap. The dates of our fair are usually the 3rd week in July. Our 2024 dates are July 13-18, 2024. A $100 refundable deposit is required to make sure we can plan on your attendance.
When the fair is over we have you subtract your cost, sales tax, and deposit from your profit. Then 12% of that profit goes back to the Sioux County Youth Fair.
USE OF GOLF CARTS/UTVS – In order for you to get product from your supply vehicle, the Fair will allow each food concession one transport vehicle to be used. This transport vehicle must be a golf cart, UTV type and related. You will be allowed to transport product to your site as needed. We will ask you to use EXTREME caution when driving through the grounds, especially during times of high fairgoer attendance. At no time will any vehicle be allowed in the Inflatables/Petting Zoo areas.
DISPOSAL OF GREASE FOR DEEP FRYERS – If your concession uses a deep fryer you are required to dispose of grease in an acceptable manner. Grease cannot be put in dumpsters, dumped on the ground or dumped down storm or sanitary sewers. Please talk to Fair Board staff to accommodate this process.
E-COLI ISSUES – E-Coli is a major issue with fairs, festivals and other public gatherings. The Fair will be addressing these issues and we expect all our food concessions to educate themselves on E-Coli and how it can be prevented. The most visible preventative action is proper food handling and proper hand washing. The Fair will expect all food concessions to abide by the food handling guidelines as provided by the State of Iowa. Please make a special effort to cooperate.
PRODUCT LISTING FORM – Food Vendors: Enclosed with your contract is a form for listing products sold by your food concession. All food vendors are to list the products they sell, including beverages. Return this completed form with your contract by the due date listed on contract. This will allow the Fair to monitor products sold at the Fair and also hold down over-duplication of products. The Fair reserves the right to restrict products offered by any and all vendors.
