Royal Tea Party

Come celebrate that special daughter in your life and bring her to our Mother’s Day Royal Tea Party. Dress in your favorite tea party dress and have fun learning about what it is like to be one of the Sioux County Fair Royalty!  

It will be a morning filled with a light brunch along with punch and fun hands-on stations for the girls to enjoy. Lastly, you can’t go to a party without a little paparazzi! We will have a photographer at the party to capture some adorable Mother’s Day photos for you to cherish for years to come.

This is a free event with a freewill donation to go towards the Sioux County Youth Fair. All ages are invited to attend!

Please RSVP below by May 1 so that we can get an idea of how many we can plan on. If you are after the deadline, don’t hesitate to sign up we will reach out to your if the spots are all full.

Join us at this event as the Sioux County Youth Fair Queen, Princess and Little Miss get selected. The girls have interviews before the competition that they get judged in. At the ceremony the participants will model their casual and formal wear, answer on stage questions and the winner will be announced. This event will also be broadcasted through Facebook Live on our Sioux County Youth Fair Facebook page for the relatives and friends who are not able to attend.

If you are 16-18 years old, we would love to have you run for the Sioux County Fair Queen. Fill out the above application by May 31

If your daughter is a resident of Sioux County and between 5-7 years old by July 1 she is welcome to compete for the Sioux County Fair Little Miss. Fill out the application above by May 31

Sioux County Youth Fair Queen

RULES

• Candidate must be between 16-18 years of age by July 1

• Each contestant much be an active member of at least one service organization in their community such as church, Girl Scouts, 4-H, etc. Eligibility is not limited to 4-H membership.

• Candidate must be a resident of Sioux County

• Candidate must be unmarried and have no dependents

• No professional model is eligible to compete in the state competition

• If you win as the Sioux County Youth Fair Queen you are not eligible to run again

• A competent committee will select the Sioux County Youth Fair Queen. Judging comments and not available to the contestants. Judging will be based on Personality, Attitude, Appearance, and Awareness, Leadership & Citizenship, Contribution to the community, Overall Appearance, Charm, & Poise

• Each contestant will be required to appear in casual and formal attire

• Upon coronation, the Queen and Princess will be given a list of suggested public appearances and duties she is encouraged to attend and carry out in her efforts to promote and enthusiastically represent the Sioux County Youth Fair.

• The Sioux County Youth Fair Queen will happily represent Sioux County at the Iowa State Fair Queen Contest in August. The required dates to be in attendance in Des Moines are Wednesday – Saturday, August 8-11. If crowned the Iowa State Fair Queen, you will be required to remain at the fairgrounds for the remaining time of the ISF. The fair board will pay the $450 state entry fee which covers the expenses while in Des Moines.

• The Sioux County Fair Queen must maintain proper conduct during her reign or forfeit the title to the first runner-up. If the reigning Sioux County Youth Fair Queen should cause any more question, should become pregnant, or should marry, she shall relinquish her reign to the Princess. The Queen Committee and the Sioux County Youth Fair Board shall decide in case of question.

• If the Sioux County Fair Queen is unable to participate in the State Fair, the Princess will represent Sioux County and will receive the $150 bonus

• Prizes include the following – Queen: $750 ($250 at coronation & $500 after State Fair duties are complete), Crown/Sash, State Fair entry fee paid ($450). Princess: $250 cash plus gift bags for each participant. If the Queen is unable to go to the Iowa State Fair the Princess will go in her place and receive the $500 after the State Fair competition.

Little Miss Sioux County

RULES

• Must be a resident of Sioux County her entire term. If she moves away, she shall relinquish her reign to the 1st Runner up.

• Must be 5-7 years of age by July 1

• Application and 4×6 photo is due by May 31. A portrait style picture with focus on face is preferred for publication use

• Contestants must be available to attend and serve as an ambassador for the Sioux County Youth Fair as determined by the Fair Board

• The winning contestant will receive a crown, sash and other prizes at the time of crowning

• If you are the winning Little Miss Sioux County you may not run again

• Please arrange to have a escort for your Little Miss onto the stage during their introduction

• The competition will be limited to the first 15 entries received.

• If you become Little Miss you are expected to ride in various parades representing the Sioux County Youth Fair, as well as attend and help with carious other community events and fair activities. Little Miss must be chaperoned at all times by a responsible adult, not an older sibling.
